ifo Center for Energy, Climate and Resources

The ifo Institute is one of the leading economic research institutes in Europe and a member of the Leibniz Association. The research activities of the ifo Center for Energy, Climate and Resources are determined by the major challenges arising for policy, society and the economy from climate change, the transformation of energy systems, and the allocation of natural resources. Because of the outstanding importance of climate and energy policy, these topics are at the core of its research. The Center employs a variety of methodological approaches that range from econometric evaluation to dynamic optimization and numerical methods. The team of the Center consists of 14 scientists with many years of experience in policy advice. The Center cooperates with a number of other German and international research institutions in externally funded projects on, for example, regionalization and centralization in the Energiewende, the integrated assessment of climate policies and economic analyses of the future of energy markets.
